Nail Art by Charlotte – march

The face behind the nail art

My name is Charlotte Bäcklund and I have worked at Depend for ten years.

I am a trained nail technician and hugely passionate about nail art.

I began as a saleswoman, and today work with anything and everything to do with nail polish. Colours, names, texts and images – my primary aim is to inspire you!

Good luck and remember that there are no rights and wrongs when it comes to nail decoration. You are the artist!

Were you super happy with the way your manicure turned out? Please share a picture on Depend’s Facebook or Instagram (#depend) and be an inspiration to others.

Put your nails in focus!

Sorbet Ombre with Cracked Effect

Sorbet Ombre with Cracked Effect

Step 1. Apply a thin layer of O2 Protecting Base Coat.

Step 2. Next apply two thin coats of O2 Grape Sorbet (no. 4083).

Step 3. Apply the two colours Grape Sorbet and Frozen Sorbet (no. 4087) to the special effects sponge and dab this over the nail.

Allow the polish to dry between each application and repeat step 3 until you are satisfied with the result.

Step 4. Remove any excess polish from around the cuticles. The easiest way to do this is with our remover pen.

Step 5. Apply white Cracked Effect polish (no. 5000) to all nails.

Step 6. Once a cracked pattern has formed, finish off with O2 Matte Top Coat.

Frozen Dots

Step 1. Apply a thin layer of O2 Protecting Base Coat.

Step 2. Next apply two thin coats of O2 Frozen Sorbet (no. 4087).

Step 3. Apply O2 Top Coat.

Step 4. Finish off by using a dotting tool to add matte dots of various sizes. (The dots are matte because the polish is a matte polish. In this case, you finish with dots rather than a top coat).

Spring Flower

Step 1. Clean the nails with 7day Cleanser.

Step 2. Apply a thin coat of 7day Protecting Base.

Step 3. Apply two thin coats of the 7day polish Spring Sister (no. 7080) to the little finger, index finger and thumb.

Step 4. Apply two thin coats of the 7day polish Hidden Rainbow (no. 7084) to the ring finger and middle finger.

Step 5. Apply rhinestones to the polish on the ring finger before it dries. The easiest way to do this is with an orange stick dipped in top coat. Use this to pick up the rhinestones and apply them to the nail. If the polish starts to dry, apply a thin layer of top coat to make the nail wet again, so the stones can adhere to it. We used teardrop-shaped stones to create a flower.

Step 6. Finish off with two coats of 7day Hybrid Top.

Spring Mix

Step 1. Apply a thin layer of O2 Protecting Base Coat.

Step 2. Now apply two thin coats of O2 no. 472 (pale orange) to the little finger, O2 no. 469 (blue) to the ring finger, O2 no. 466 (red) to the middle finger, O2 no. 468 (dark orange) to the index finger and O2 no. 472 (pale orange) to the thumb.

Step 3. Once the polish is completely dry, apply French Manicure templates to the bottom part of the nail. It is a good idea to work on one nail at a time.

Step 4. Apply two thin coats of O2 no. 470 (green) to the little finger, O2 no. 467 (pink) to the ring finger, O2 no. 471 (purple) to the middle finger, O2 no. 469 (blue) to the index finger and O2 no. 468 (dark orange) to the thumb.

Step 5. Carefully remove the templates.

Step 6. Finish off with O2 Glossy Top Coat.

Step 3. Using the dotting tool, create dots using O2 no. 470 (green), 471 (purple), 476 (beige), 472 (pale orange), 468 (dark orange) and 469 (blue).

The ends of the dotting tool are different sizes, meaning you can create dots of different sizes.
